Walk in the woods.
The photo is a view of Judy Woods. One which I have photographed in Spring, Autumn and Winter, but think is my first Summer photo.
As it’s Bank Holiday we don’t travel far. Avoiding the crowds.
So a very nice walk with our son and little dog Rory through Judy Woods, Norwood Green, and Billy Wood.
On our way we met the beekeeper who I blipped back in 2020 25th October.
What a very interesting chat we had.
I’m afraid this year has been dreadful for the bees. July was so wet they didn’t venture out to gather pollen and instead started living in the honey they had already stored. So this year he has very little honey to bottle, and instead is having to feed them.
Despite this his honey managed to win a first prize at Halifax Agricultural Show.
J was getting quite carried away with the idea of having a hive of his own! However he thought his neighbours might complain.
Must admit they are such intelligent insects.
We finished off our walk back in Norwood Green at the Pear Tree In. It still has the pear tree growing up the wall, which was covered in pears.( see extra )Sat outside as although dull it was quite warm.
Lunch of pizzas for us and a burger for J. All excellent and the drinks went down well too.
A lovely way to spend a Bank Holiday Monday.
