2023 Saturday — Water Fountain

Occasionally things are worn, torn, cracked, chipped, crushed, bruised, wounded -- and preowned, but they still function, still run, have moments of beauty, even hum a melody. Today we put dibs on an item that fits that description.

In Facebook MarketPlace I have been looking and scrolling and wishing and hoping for a fountain for the backyard. The selling point -- this fountain is "lightweight." It's difficult for us to get heavy, awkward items up our stairs into the backyard.

So we drove south a few miles to the farming community of Guadalupe today to rescue this fountain, now our fountain, and now we're waiting for the little bit of polish and spit-shine of Mr. Fun's TLC to dry.

Then our fountain will be placed in just the right spot, still deciding what that is, and then we'll flip the switch, and we'll have the song of a fountain in the backyard. This is exciting.
