Seven Hills Champions

Edinburgh, like Rome, is a city of seven hills, and today Luke, Otter and I climbed them all. There is an annual race which does the same, starting and ending on Calton Hill, but we walked it from and back to Portobello, so it was a longer route.

The seven hills are (in the order we did them): Arthur’s Seat, Blackford Hill, , Buckstone Snab (Braid Hills), Easter Craiglockart, Corstorphine, Castle Rock and Calton Hill. The views were stunning and the weather good (except for a spell of heavy rain on Blackford Hill).

We took plenty of water but no food, sustained by vegan doughnuts from Considerit and a sandwich from Asda at Craiglockart. Had a celebratory mango soda at the end and an Indian takeaway at home while watching The Alpinist.

22 miles walked today and over 51,000 steps!
