Gracious Living

During the 18th century wealthy families from the hinterland had town houses built in Bannf which now has more listed Georgian mansions than anywhere outside Edinburgh.

The building seen in this picture of an eye catching bed of petunias and lobelia was designed by John Adam for the Earl of Deskford in 1750.. it is now a Community Arts Centre and stands in the former grounds of Banff Castle.

The gate shown in the extra forms part of the entrance to the grounds and was originally at the entrance to Duff House.
