Herring Gulls

There are so many seagulls in the bay that I can't remember what they all are, but I think this is a family of Herring Gulls. The juvenile has beautiful contrasting colored feathers on his back. This one was quite vocal and kept scolding us for some reason, I think it might have wanted us to throw him some bait. We didn't fish or crab today so we didn't have bait.

We did have crab which we caught on Thursday for dinner tonight. I made a delicious crab taco and my husband ate his crab meat dipped in seasoned butter...both of us loved our dinner.

We spent time back at the house repairing the fence that the tree guys knocked down. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be; we spent several hours working on it. It is fixed temporarily; the biggest root of the tree we had removed is still pushing on the base of the fence and we aren't sure what to do about it. We tried chain sawing it, but the saw would fit in the area that needs to be removed...back to the drawing board...next trip we may have thought of a solution.
