Starlings

Up early, and yippee - no sign of a second red line on the Covid test! Negative at last!

Finished packing a rucksack, and before long I was Whitby bound. Bus to Huddersfield, train to Scarborough via York - just time there to buy a coffee - and bus to Whitby. Two buses to Whitby actually, the first broke down in Robin Hood's Bay! Walked up to the Leisure Centre to join MrM at the Craft Fair, not long before the end of trading.

As we walked in to Whitby from the campsite early in the evening we passed the Grand Turk galleon, a re-creation of an 18th century man o'war. All the black 'blobs' that you can see on the rigging are actually starlings. Hundreds of them!

After the obligatory fish & chips at Hadleys, most of the evening spent in the Ship listening to Irish music and chatting with friends.
