I like our grasses. Simply lovely just now, especially against that sky. Wafting gracefully in the breeze, ever popular with wildlife. I enjoy just spending a minute watching them.

Watched a bit of the England Rugby v Fiji - last RWC2023 warm up game, beaten by Fiji - I thought of the big build up re the England team on BBC Radio Sport in the morning, full of superlatives, completed with “elsewhere Scotland and Ireland are playing.” …indeed Scotland were playing! And Scotland beat Georgia, best of tier 1 nations, at Murrayfield. First half, once again frustrating, 0-6 at halftime. Second half….higher work rate and impactful substitutions brought scores. All the bench were used in the 33-6 win. Comfortable victory for Scotland before heading to France. Only 80 minute performances will do on the World Cup stage. Big crowd, many stayed back to wish the team well in lap of honour.

Elsewhere, South Africa (in our RWC2023 group) beat New Zealand by biggest margin ever. Ireland, number 1 in world rankings, are the other team of note in our RWC2023 group. Hmmm. September looks tough. Been a good exciting warm up campaign though, regardless of what’s ahead! Going to be great Competition for supporters of the sport.
