Diary of an Edinburgher

New shoes!

JR got some really nice Camper trainers the other day and I quite fancied a pair. They were light as a feather, and I've realised that leather shoes are just too heavy for me to wear and walk all day in. Which is a bit of a nuisance... So I thought I could go down town and have a look. (See me and shoes...)

We all took the bus down town, I bought a pair of trainers (half price) in the first shop, and was back on the bus and home within the hour! AND I just got to the bus stop at the same time as the bus. Brilliant. JR and Archie walked home.

Later, we all took a dander down to Toast, a newish cafe that opened months ago to great disappointment from us because they had no chairs, just stools and wine barrels instead of tables (and benches along the windows). We tried it one evening, but have never been back, so uncomfortable it was. BUT... it now has chairs and tables! It's dog friendly, has quiet jazz music, and is sunny in the afternoons. Quite a good spot for an evening stroll, as it's open later than the local cafes.

I’m still enjoying the World Championship Athletics from Budapest, but JR cannae be bothered with them…
