Houseboat, Lyon

We saw some wonderful converted houseboats on the river in Lyon today. This one really caught my attention as it had so many bushes growing on it. What a great place to stay.

Up and out early again this morning to try to cycle as far as we could before it got too hot. We stopped at a bakery for late breakfast and had a picnic lunch before swimming in a lake. One of our group had a puncture and that was the moment that the temperature reached 40 degrees. The men worked together to repair it and we were soon in our way again. It felt like we were cycling into a hot hairdryer Total: 90 km today.

We were very happy to arrive at our air conditioned hotel and only wandered as far as the pizza place next door this evening. It was our last day of cycling and tomorrow we will explore Lyon.
