Walk of Life . . . Dire Straits
This evening the forester is making preparations for going tramping/hiking with the tramping club. It is a staying away overnight trip, actually two nights in a hut. He has bought new over trousers although the forecast is fine. He also bought a puffer jacket which will be light to carry but provide warmth. The lovely daughter follows my blips and she will be surprised because he has never had a jacket like this before. One habit he hasn't changed is taking a real axe because you just never know if there will be wood left at the hut. For fifty years his tramping always involved hunting for deer and this is just a walk. He will not be carrying a rifle. Another change to the habits of a life time.
