Wet and wild?

The koi is not wild. The lotus is not wild. The netting is to protect the koi from herons. My in-laws are no longer fans of herons. 

The news today!! Wow. 

Ok, so, who expected the head of Wagner to live long and prosper? No one? No one? 

The Russian general who was a leading military figure, Sergei Surovikin,  replaced the previous general who, uh, “died of a lengthy illness.” He got the job because he was known for being a ruthless evil psychopath in Syria. His nickname was General Armageddon. He’s been missing since the Wagner rebellion. He was known for being friends with Prigozhin. Supposedly he has now been transferred to a new job and is taking a short vacation. 

India landed on the moon!!! India landed on the dark side of the moon, which is a big deal because no one has been able to do that before. I got to watch (I just lucked out and had the BBC open at the time) and it was before work. The US, the USSR, and China have landed on the moon. Russia itself has not landed on the moon. Russia failed to land on the moon. I don’t wish Russia ill, but I wish Russia ill. At least now. And I like that India succeeded, and I like that India succeeded right after Russia failed. On August 20 The Russian craft crashed into the moon. I hope this contributes to a sense of things going badly in Russia and reduces support for the leaders. 

Finally, Russia is helping the war effort by destroying their own Air Force. Over a fifth of Russia’s known aircraft and helicopter losses have not been due to enemy action. They don’t maintain their aircraft. They don’t train their pilots. They aren’t rigorous with safety.
