A beautiful Spring day …

….. ….. ….. at Lake Hayes.

There’s been massive landscaping happening at the eastern end of Lake Hayes for a couple of weeks, with most of the huge old willows being removed. Large piles of logs still remain but are gradually being removed, some chipped for mulching and most available for firewood. The whole area is going to be planted in native species, and some random tree stumps left for bird habitats.

I’ve never been able to photograph this tree on this angle before the trees were removed. The whole vista has been opened up now. There were fantails flitting around, and waxeyes looking for insects. Lovely!
