Strathconon

Thursday
The forecast was good for today so , after the Puffin Pool, we went for a drive through Strathconon.
We stopped at Loch Achilty on the way. A few people in swimming and taking kayaks out.
Lovely drive through Heather clad hills. We stopped at the waterfall and had an early lunch.A few trees are being felled on the opposite side and an orange digger moved slowly across the field in front.
The weather was still good when we reached the carpark at the end of the road. We went for a short walk along the water. Wish I could walk further but did not want to risk it.lots of delicate wildflowers including wild scabious and harebells.
I went for a walk down by the river on the way back. Glorious , so quiet with just the flow of the river, too early for the rut but it won’t be long until the hills are filled with the sound of the deer.
I really like the short trees lining the bank , looked like it might be a good place for wild swimming :)
