Exploring with Katherine and Martin

I took the train from Glasgow Central to K&M’s town and we set off for a day visiting amazing places like Linlithgow Palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born.  On an auspicious day to because on this day in 1561 Mary return to Scotland  after her husband, the king of France, died.  (The staircase was used in a scene in Outlander.). We also visited St. Michael’s Parish church right next door.  There’s been a church on that site for over 1,000 years.  Magnificent stained glass but the one I’ve included is a new one, installed in 1992 and it depicts the Pentecost.  After a lovely long lunch at the Inn at Charlestown, we made our way to Culross (purnounced cur’-us).  The village hall interior was also used in Outlander.  A quick 15 minute ride back on the train to my hotel.  Tomorrow I depart for Inverness.  Gift#230: Katherine and Martin.
