Here We Go Again

It’s that time of year and preparations for the Leeds Festival are well under way. It is held in Bramham Park over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

Although the festival itself does not cause too many problems (apart from the traffic queues and litter on all the local roads) - but we have to endure road closures and ridiculous speed limits (30 mph on long stretches of roads that are normally NSL (60 mph) roads). The temporary speed limits are put in place from Monday 21st even though the park doesn’t open until Wednesday (for a few ‘early bird’ ticket holders) and the bulk of arrivals aren’t until Thursday!!

Temporary road signs have been dropped off and most will be stood up or turned around on Monday morning so that they can be seen

This road closure is a new one this year - possibly to try and stop people driving through the village after last year’s reports of people stopping in the village to use gardens and the streets as toilets!!

The sign is pretty useless really as if you approach and read this ‘diversion’ you have already gone way past the suggested route and there is nowhere to turn around!
