Spring is coming
There was great excitement this morning because some light fittings that Mr MacD had ordered arrived. They are for the two guest bedrooms, so will be installed over the weekend. Then the technician came to look at our new fridge, which has been making a funny noise intermittently. It’s not that we mind the noise, we’re just a bit concerned that it means there’s a problem. Anyhow he pulled the fridge out, adjusted two small pipes and said that he’ll leave the job open until next week so we have the weekend to make sure that the problem is now fixed. He even put everything back in the fridge! We’ll be listening closely - so far, so good.
Then the real excitement began. We drove out into the countryside to visit our Blip friend, Mima. She’s been such a help to us, even before we arrived in Oamaru, and it was lovely to visit her and her beautiful dog, Bean, who was ever so affectionate. We had a delicious lunch, followed by a nice walk in the sunshine, then a tour of Mima’s property. The way that Mima grows and processes all her own food, is so inspiring. She is such a resourceful lady and we’re so pleased we’ve finally managed to visit her.
As we walked there were some lovely clouds in a blue sky. When we arrived home I took photos of the daffodils that are starting to appear in the garden. It was such a lovely warm day, despite the cold frosty start. Spring is definitely starting to make an appearance.
