Hanging on

Lilies from Mum’s spray made into posy by the florist are still hanging on. That’s one week now.

Today we got rid of mum’s fridge freezer and cooker. I put them in Facebook marketplace for free and as I said yesterday there was a time waster with the F/F but the man called ‘Sandy’ came at the right time with his little trolley to cart it away. I was glad I’d chosen him as it was for his daughter starting out in a flat with not much. Mum would have liked that.

There was so much interest for the cooker too. I got a good vibe from ‘Yvonne’ and as we chatted it transpired it was for her daughter and partner who were moving in together. Again, mum would have approved of her cooker going to them. The three of them arrived at 1:30 and as the cooker had wheels at the back they managed fine down to the lift and then on to the boot of their car. Both items were 17 years old and have gone to worthwhile homes.

Continued with packing . Before Yvonne came for the cooker we walked into town and took some stuff to the charity shop and the pills to Superdrug for disposal. Stopped off at Nero for a coffee and shared a focaccia.

Home and sat out with a cuppa while a washing did its stuff. A wee bit gardening and a read of my book.

Went down to see the gang after tea taking down some towels from mums for Cameron for the Halls. Dave in his bed with a sickness bug after his trip away picking up a new Land Rover for his work. Ugh.

We’ve organised to go out on 28 august which would have been mums 94th birthday. I had already said before all this illness that we would be having a party for her in the house. A first that is soon.

I always feel really weepy in the evening as if I had not seen mum that particular day we had our FaceTime call around 8:30/9.00. It’s still very nee this not having her around anymore.
