A rainbow of colours
There were no felt tip pens when I was in primary school so when school resumed after the summer holidays it was a new box of six Lakeland colour pencils that I dropped into my satchel ..... when a box of twelve different colours came on the market it made colouring in so much more fun.
During my years of teaching packets of felt pens became the popular choice with most children. The packets became larger as more colours were added and often there was little desk space left for books and jotters.
There were some activities when I insisted on coloured pencils .... they could be sharpened and didn't dry up like many of the felt pens.
