With Forked Tongue....
Another lovely day today. The Dumfries coast is lovely with wonderfully old trees & plants & lots of wildlife. I went off in search of red squirrels at an NT Scotland place - Threave Hall - , but when I got to the hide, there hadn't been any food put out. I had a quick run past by two reds though & so at least I saw them.
Gorgeous trees & plants and wonderful walled gardens.
I got back to where I'm staying & Lesley (the owner) asked me if I'd like to see an adder basking in the sun. Of course I did! So off we went to the house above hers & there was this adder basking in the sun. It was quite long, but not very broad and so probably quite young. It knew we were there, but we didn't disturb it. I was thrilled to find a forked tongue in my pics. :)
More adder loveliness in the extras.
