Between fen and mountains

Eus

We went out for lunch with friends to the pretty perched village of Eus which regularly vies for the title of the sunniest village in France with around 300 hours of sunshine per year. We drove to the top of the village where there was car parking, but it was full so we descended back down the road past the lower car parks which were also full until we ended up right at the bottom of the village. We were already late and became even later as the climb up was steep and took a further 15 minutes. We had a typical three hour long Sunday lunch and enjoyed a good company and lovely views over the plain.
