Mom and I

We know it's June in Alaska when the moose calves are born. I was so lucky to get this shot. I was driving to the post office and saw them crossing a side road and thought that they would never be there when I returned. About 10 minutes later I turned down that little dirt road and there they were, Mom munching away on willow bushes and baby sticking right with her. I stopped and opened my truck window and took many photos. She seemed quite unconcerned, and fortunately it was a more or less open area so they did not disappear into the woods.
