Hand-Off

We were blessed with another sunny, clear day in Portland as we traveled by bus, using our "Honored Citizens" tickets ($1 each), to meet Kendall at Lovejoy Bakers, one of our favorite places for a delicious breakfast (a late, leisurely one, in our case), lunch, or yummy snack. It was delightful to sit at an outside table and watch the diverse foot traffic, as well as the Portland streetcars that run past the bakery.

Next we tried a variety of local locations for this photo; many thanks to Phil for his patience and photographic skills! Blipbear and Kiwi are now safely delivered to Kendall, who will provide interim housing for them until they are handed off to another local blipper. It was a pleasure to be a part of their worldwide travels, and Phil and I wish them all the best in their next adventures!

After strolling along other interesting streets in northwest Portland, we ended up at Salt and Straw for extraordinary ice cream. (I had a child's size scoop of Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache, quite possibly the best ice cream I've ever eaten).

We parted company with Kendall, and sauntered back in the direction of our bus stop -- but then thought, "What about lunch? We haven't been to Deschutes Brewery yet..." and yes, we ate again -- from the "Small Plates" side of the menu, but that's a relative term.

Tonight will definitely be the evening for fruit, wine, cheese, and crackers on our little patio, and another walk!
