One of yesterday’s jobs

I had planned to blip the version of this picture that it is extras yesterday, but the sky beat it for impact.  S put the shelves up for me, they were in the kitchen of our previous house and I’m fond of them. 

Yesterday’s picture has a bird on the bottom shelf, but for safety’s sake it has been moved. We came into the kitchen to see Amber sitting in her bed staring at the bird, absolutely obsessed. I took it down to let her see that it wasn’t real, thinking that she would lose interest, but no she wanted it. I was scared that she might reach up to get it down if I put it back. 

I’ve swapped it for a little glass container containing a smelly candle which I bought in Prague. I don’t know what the smell is, it’s lovely but unusual. I used it during the pandemic to test to see that my sense of smell was not impaired. The tin mug with the coloured cats was also bought in Prague on an earlier visit. 

Fortunately Amber cannot see the cats on the mug and glass container as she doesn’t like them. 

A day of lots of odds and ends in the house and garden. It rained intermittently, absolutely hammering it down for short periods.

R has been working in Oxford for the past two weeks, 18hr days and arrived home late afternoon. She will be absolutely wiped out, so we will see her when she recovers. Looking forward to hearing all about the experience.
