Loch Long

We had a free Saturday and decided it would be good to have a wee road trip.  We had thought of driving up to Inveraray.  So we set off and stopped at Arrochar for a coffee.  The weather was iffy, some heavy rain and the mist was low on the hills.  We thought we would get very few nice views.  Aborted the journey, and instead headed from Arrochar along Loch Long towards Helensburgh.  And were we glad we had done so!

We stopped between Rhu and Helensburgh at a nice picnic area, and had a read of the newspaper, then headed into the town.  They had a gala day in progress, and the sun came out in time for us!  We arrived in the middle of a Doggie Contest, and watching the parades of dogs (have never seen so many dogs in one place) till we got hungry and went into a lovely bistro and had a super snack. Didn't manage to get many good photos of the dogs, there was so much going on.

Then Bob had a seat and people watched, while I had a wander around all the stalls set up with lots of food and drink as well as some nice gift items.

All in all a good day and a good decision to change our plans.

My photo is of Loch Long although the hills are not clear, and the extra is of the dog show.
