Further to yesterday's blip.......
....I went over to Brighton to see the old carriages on display for the 140th anniversary of Magnus Volk's Railway. Old one above, newer one as an extra.
Another story from last night's talk - he was one of the first to buy the newly invented telephone, quite a bulky affair. He also bought one for a fellow inventor friend, and the wires were duly installed connecting them. However the neighbours objected to the appearance above them and demanded they be removed. Genius solution - he bought telephones for all the local councillors who were thrilled, objections failed!
