Sally Mair - Loving life

Sweet peas

Today started very warm, over 20° when I went out first thing to water the veg. We didn't have anything planned so it was rather nice just to start the day slowly.
I picked a bunch of sweet peas to bring in this afternoon, the scent is wonderful in the lounge
I noticed lots of greenfly around them, which seems rather late in the season. I wondered if the warm weather had encouraged another brood .
I've put the sweet peas on a table by some photos of my wee sister. It's hard to believe she died 14 years ago next month, in many ways it still doesn't seem real. There's been lots going on with her daughter, I wonder what she would have thought about it all .
I did a cosmetic repair in Ali's car today. It's 17 years old and generally very sound, but has some cosmetic rust damage. I patched up the rough edges with Duck tape. Being a silver car it hardly shows and covers up the sharp edges nicely!
We had our online bridge session this evening. It's a very friendly gathering, the other 4 members of the group were all at St Andrews together in the early 70s. I'm the interloper! I did know them then though as I often visited Colin there, in fact many think that I studied at St As too I was there so often
Friday again tomorrow, another week has whizzed by. The schoolbags I ordered for the girls have arrived so they are coming to pick them up tomorrow, and we are also looking after Josie for a few hours in the middle of the day. They do all enjoy being together, I wonder if their timings will coincide.
