Woody Wednesday (9th August 2023)

Diary blip. Woody Wednesday was a fine day after being rained off the week before. Refna came along at midday from another job. My neighbours M and K kindly offered me these four pots that they no longer want, an offer that was quickly accepted, along with some terracotta tiles that I will be using as steps for a path that I'm intending to create in the Woodland Garden.

My crocosmia have so far failed to flower, but the one that is coming into bloom in the new pot was recently given to me by C. from her rather sunnier garden. The position, arrangement and contents of these pots are temporary, created for the purposes of Blip demonstration.

Woodland Garden (August-October 2023) (Work in progress)

Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Ronnie Hawkins and the Band - Who Do You Love? (recorded live, 25 November 1976, Winterland Ballroom, San Francisco CA, for The Last Waltz)
R.I.P. Robbie Robertson (5 July 1943, Toronto - 9 August 2023, Los Angeles CA)
Although Robbie Robertson sang on the various solo albums he released after the lifespan of the Band, he only sang lead on a couple of Band records, even though he wrote a great number of them, and when performing live although he appeared to be singing back-up his microphone was usually turned off. His primarily role as a musician was as their lead guitarist. His solo on the version of Bo Diddley's Who Do You Love that Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks released in 1963 remains one of the all-time greats, yet he almost tops it in this live performance filmed by Martin Scorsese for the film of the Band's farewell concert, The Last Waltz.
