DON'T FENCE ME IN

Song by Bing Crosby and The Andrew Sisters from way back in 1944 apparently

An unexpected day in today.  I was all set and ready to go up to The Swan and Newby Bridge (hoping there weren't any more accidents in the area) to meet with CumbriaLass and her dog Fletch when she phoned.  Fletch is not well so we've just postponed it and hope he will be better so we can meet up on Friday instead.  Can't be helped, disappointing yes but as long as Fletch is OK that's all that matters.  Thinking of them and hoping he is now OK??

The song title is because we are having new Fences and gates fitted around the property. The old one were just hanging on by a thread.  We're only having a very basic fence - ie two planks of wood between each post with large gaps for the birds and two new waist high gates.

They've been working solidly since 8.15 this morning as there is a lot to do in digging out the old posts first.  Hubby doesn't think they will be finished today so our planned lunch out tomorrow may not happen either - c'est la vie!!!

That's all from me for today.  Do take care and stay safe.
