Autumn Snowflakes

My Alpine Blip friends have shown a dusting of fresh snow on the higher peaks this week.   Down here in the lowlands, Acis autumnalis has been in flower for a week or more.   A little bulbous plant that grows on the western shores of the Mediterranean, it has proved hardy both in Norfolk and here in Wales, surviving outside through some fairly harsh winters.   The flowers always appear in late summer as soon as some rain arrives.  It makes good seed for propagating more, seed which ripens quite quickly after flowering and can be sown immediately.

A work day.  I started slowly after the tiring day yesterday.  Busy at Aber cafe, I didn't finish until nearly six so it needed a quick turnaround before singing.  We had three new singers tonight which was great and managed to work through nine songs despite the absence of several singers and our music coach.  A happy evening which finished with hot chocolate at J & J's caravan under dark, starry skies.   The Pleiades meteor shower is active this week, Jane spotted a shooting star as we said goodnight.
