Crafts Study Centre

I managed a few emails and similar before Mr Flossmo dropped me down into Farnham to meet a friend for a visit to the Crafts Study Centre. The Centre is attached to the University of the Creative Arts and regularly has excellent exhibitions of ceramics, textiles and objects made from wood. We were particularly interested to see an exhibition of work by  Dame Magdalene Odundo, Chancellor of the University of the Creative Arts ( https://www.csc.uca.ac.uk/ ) as my friend is a keen potter. It was great to have a knowledgeable person to explain some of the finer points of the construction of Odundo's very beautiful vessels.

Upstairs we wandered around a rather eclectic retirement exhibition of items from the collection of Lesley Millar, Professor of Textile Culture and Director of the International Textile Research Centre at UCA. The great thing about going to the Crafts Study Centre is that there isn't so much on display that it becomes overwhelming and it's possible to really spend time looking.

After an hour or so we decamped to Lion and Lamb Yard for some lunch where we debated art, holiday destinations and whether we had reached our best before dates.

Back home I applied myself to finishing the paperwork related to my company pensions and Mr Flossmo and I walked up to the Post Office to send off by recorded delivery. Fingers crossed there is nothing more needed.

This evening we have been watching Lucy Worsley on the Romanovs on iPlayer. Always good to get a better understanding of history and be grateful not to have been born into what seems to be an often brutal life.
