Compo's House

A better day, cloudy with sunny spells, warm too.  A fair breeze about.

Up early, planned the day's trip.  Mam and dad arrived, and we set off exploring.  Most of the day was spent in Holmfirth, exploring various places.  Headed up the Black Hill for a walk finally a look around Castle Hill, near Huddersfield.  Mam and dad headed back to the campsite before 6pm.  A lazy evening watching telly, but another walk coming later.

A bit of a Last of the Summer Wine pilgrimage today.  Sadly the bus tour wasn't on, but we made our way around the village ourselves.  We had a cuppa and fancy at Sid's café, walked up to Nora Batty's house, and then into the museum.  Great to recall old episodes, also reminiscing about grandparents who loved the show too.  Along with the various props in the museum, we had access to Compo's actual front room.  Portrait of Compo on the wall, along with his trademark jacket and rubber boots.  I'll need to watch it again when I get home.  There was certainly still characters about the village today.  Taken in Last of the Summer Wine Exhibition, Huddersfield Road, Holmfirth, Yorkshire.
