Tailend Hot Platter
We went for dinner at Tailend this evening, a celebration as Jen found out she got the job this afternoon. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table despite my reassurance that I'd not seen it very busy when I had been for takeaway on a Friday previously. I think the pleasant weather must have given everyone the same idea. It was all very nice, Arbroath Smokie Pate and a plate of Whitebait for starter followed by the Hot Platter consisting of Haddock goujons, Grilled Sea Bass, BAttered Prawns and Grilled Scallops. The Calamari was a swap for something they didn't have, Cod I think but we were much happier with Calamari. Side order of Mushy Peas and we nearly ordered chips too but it turned out it came with chips. Extremely enjoyable food.
So the job Jen had an interview for on Wednesday has been offered to her, and she snapped it up. A combination of being desperate for work and the prospect of a challenge, the restaurant needs to turned around as it is nosediving at the minute apparently, make it an exciting prospect for her. 4-6 weeks of training in London will start next week then she'll return to manage the restaurant on the Royal Mile with a hefty sum to invest in turning it around.
Things are definitely looking up :)
