Dancing!

An early start to get the train up to St Andrews for a day at the RSCDS Summer School. Very lucky with the weather as it was dry all day as I made my way between the different halls being used for classes from beginners to very advanced. In the evening there was a dance at the Younger Hall with a live feed from a dance in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada to celebrate all manner of anniversaries. This year is the centenary of the RSCDS, it's the 90th Summer School, the 65th anniversary of the Teachers' Association Canada (who support Scottish Country Dancing over there) and their 50th Summer School. The evening was divided into two parts - for the first half the caller for the dances was in Canada and for the second half it was the St Andrews caller in charge. There were bands in each place to play the music for the dances, once the dance had been described.
