Friday things

Lack of sleep has been a problem today - woke after less than 4 hours and spent ages trying to get back to sleep. Eventually must have nodded off but it was only a short nap then wide awake again so I gave in and got up.
Usual Friday shopping trip. The roads seemed weird today - very quiet - nothing like the usual Friday traffic. Maybe lots of people have gone away!
Managed to book my ophthalmology appointment today. It's for December 7th and apparently treatment is usually carried out within 39 weeks from then! That's not accounting for the strikes though. Crikey - I've plenty of time to gear up to this then. It seems to be a woeful week for anything to do with the NHS.
Took a number of random photos to see which to blip and couldn't really decide, hence three!
Did a little in the garden this afternoon but it wasn't a lot.
Went on compare the market to get some quotes for building and contents insurance which is due for renewal later this month. We've been with Saga for a number of years but this year's renewal quote was a 51% increase on last year's price! That's disgusting. Profiteering, if you ask me.
I got a great set of quotes and one was particularly good in that it offered slightly better cover for less than we paid last year! It's with a reputable firm which has very good reviews. Happy! Cancelled renewal from Saga and paid for the new policy.
The best bit of this was when it came to the question of do we own our house outright or with a mortgage and for the first time in our lives we could answer that we own it outright!
Terry is eating better than he has for a while - still not back to normal but a definite improvement.
Main photo - the flowers only open when the sun is on them and as soon as the sun leaves them / moves away, the petals fall.
Extra 1 - can't beat a cake with the crossword.
Extra 2 - already half way through this book - another excellent read from Karen Swan. The Last Summer.
