Pennington Flash Country Park

View from one of the hides at the Flash. For those who don't know, a flash is what is formed when land below it has subsided. This is mainly  in places where mining was although some flashes may form naturally.
Pennington Flash formed in an area where coal mining had taken place and it later became a Country Park of 70 acres.
It's a great place for bird-watching with a number of hides and a lovely place to walk or geocache.
Extra taken from near the main car park.
