Blue skies, berries and butterflies.

Such a change today. Our early morning ladies walk started fine and soon we were enjoying the sun and blue skies as seen here over the 19th hole of St Ives Golf club.

Spent the rest of the morning in the garden. I noticed the Rowan near the back garden wall was full of berries with some lovely clusters hanging down. Chris was cutting the Yew back at the front behind which is our ‘new’ Rowan. It’s third year now and yet again after masses of blossom there are not many berries. It’s a different variety and the berries are more pink than red. There are a few more than last year and the birds do tend to use it as a waiting place for the feeder nearby. Maybe they are eating them as they develop or maybe it just won’t  get that many. It does make up for it by having fantastically vibrant autumn colour.

Having lunch inside I could see my neighbour’s Buddleia. There are usually several white butterflies dancing around, but I saw the Peacock land on it and headed outside for a quick pic. So here are my three ‘B’s for todays blip.

It’s been warm too so I’ve managed to get two lots of washing out and dried

In the extra you can see some press pictures of the production Grace is in at the Edinburgh Festival. The first performance is tomorrow afternoon. She is standing behind the children in the top right picture and wearing a knitted waistcoat that was my mothers! (The play is set in the ‘30s)  I spent some time last year renovating from moth damage.
