The date is set!

After going to my appointment with the anaesthesiology department on 21st July, I got a call from the scheduling nurse to tell me my surgery will take place on 9 August, next Wednesday! I have to be there from Tuesday afternoon.

As I had a pesky infection last week (I spent a few days running a fever between 39 and 41C) and my course of IV antibiotics only finishes on Wednesday, I was wondering if they would go on with the operation; apparently as long as the fever is down it won’t be a problem.

Oh! And the surgery will be performed by the professor whom I saw twice and not by one of his colleagues as he had told me would be the case!
