Bean flowers
Gave up waiting for it to stop raining so went up to the allotment anyway. By the time I arrived it was no longer falling, although there was so much water in the atmosphere one got damp just walking through it. I suppose this must be what they call a Scotch mist. Managed to do some things, getting extremely wet and muddy in the process. Fed the birds and the courgettes/squashes. I found a huge cache of french beans that were hiding underneath the huge and untidy 'dwarf' plants - I hadn't been checking as I hadn't really noticed much flowering going on. Their flower is the little purple one, bottom right in this collage - it's actually about half the size of the other flowers.
The others are (probably) top left gigantes, top right Montacute runners and bottom left what looks very much like a painted lady! I'd planted a few beans at random from a rabble that I'd saved last year - didn't expect a runner bean to grow true to type.
