Robiei
Early up to drive into the Maggia valley and turning left in Bignasca into the Val Bavona to reach San Carlo and the Robei cabin before the crowds do. Success!
We enjoyed a 3 hour circular walk around the lakes which are all producing energy and are situated in different levels between 2000 and 2500m above sea level and are connected so that the water can be used several times.
Down early afternoon and a visit (climbing up) to one of the most scenic waterfalls in the Val Bavona in Foroglio. Afterwards driving back to the Val Maggia and further up to Peccia in Val Lavizzara.
We arrived just after 4pm and had the probably most scenic Grotto in Ticino almost to ourselves. They have a list of cold appetizers and only Polenta as a main course (but in about 10 variations). As it was Sunday, we went for Brasato.
It s situated under big trees and directly at the Fiume Peccia. So naturally we got changed before the dessert and jumped into the ice cold emerald green water pond surrounded by massive round stones. Bliss.
Home at 7pm. Feet up.
