Big News Today! • Caterpillars!! • I counted six monarch caterpillars on the milkweed, possibly seven! Obviously they’ve been there for a few days, and survived yesterday’s torrential rain. Most are in the back of the garden along the fence. I became alarmed seeing a phoebe briefly perch there on that fence looking down into the garden. Robins enjoy hopping through there on occasion too. Leave my cats alone!! • The weather is amazing. The rain cleared out all the hot muggy air that’s been hanging around for weeks. Today feels more like an early September day; it’s so refreshing and energizing! I spent some time deadheading and weeding, both long overdue • Both clearwing hummingbird moths stopped by too • Another weekend almost gone, a new week about to start, soon to be August. Time flies! • A G&T is next, with a toast to the cats, MrsP and Blip!
