Garden party

The ward where J is in hospital had a garden party this afternoon. All the activities were inside as the weather was threatening rain (though it did stay dry!). For obvious reasons on a mental health ward I deliberately composed this image when there was no one in sight. The garden (which provides a positive activity for those patients who want to help maintain it) is looking great.

It was good to see J and the other patients (many of whom have been there longer than him) enjoying some different activities, and to contribute to their fundraising. I enjoyed a hotdog, but definitely was ready to leave after the karaoke had been going on for an hour!
