The pond
As the weather was fine we decided on a walk to the pond. I needed to get some exercise as I still can’t do any gardening etc.
Met some friends on the way whom we haven’t seen for ages, so had lots of catching up to do.
It was nice to see the pond had filled up a bit.
Difficult to tell which are mum and dad and which are the young geese as they have grown so much and have their adult feathers.
There was one duckling all on its own. No idea which was it’s mum as none of the adults were taking any notice of it, and it was making a lot of noise.
A few moorhens. The youngsters are now fully grown.
The flowers round the pond look lovely. Some wild and some herbaceous planted by the village conservation society.
Didn’t see any dragonflies or butterflies but plenty of bees.
We pulled the last of the potatoes up which we have grown in bags.
Not as good this year. I think caused by lack of water when we were away. Then too much later on as some had gone rotten.
We also picked some sugar snap peas and kidney beans which we enjoyed with lamb chops for tea.
Just finished FaceTime with Jennie in USA.
She went to the Rodeo last night and had a great time. What an experience! Sent a photo trying on a hat to go with the boots, but she decided not to buy one. ( see extra)
She comes home a week on Tuesday. It has really flown. Will be great to see her again.
