I watched two monarchs battle it out for supremacy and this one seemed to be the winner. The elevated position atop a tall singular stem and the expanse of negative space surrounding him add to the feeling of domination. "I'm the king of the castle", perhaps.

A windless day, so I got a clean shot, although the petals are slightly out of focus and maybe I needed more dof. I lightened the background slightly to aid separation.
