Roia

We eschewed our usual morning swim and went down to the indoor market before work. The place is an absolute treat, stuffed with fresh, well, just about everything.

We picked up the bits to make a couple of evening meals this coming week and then found a little café for coffees and pastries.

To get to the market, we had to walk down from Ventimiglia Alta, and then cross the bridge over the Roia into the new town. What you can't quite make out from my photo is how the river appears to reach a dead end at the beach. Instead of flowing out into the sea, the river goes round a surprisingly narrow S bend.
