49 years

Today was our wedding anniversary. Hard to believe its 49 years.
We decided to check out the new West Windermere Way. It starts from Newby Bridge .

We parked at The Swan and were a bit surprised to see that you now have to pay to park at either £7.50 for 2 hours (or £15 for 4 hours which seemed a bit steep. )
Quite a bit of money has been spent on the walkways and railway bridge so I suppose the parking fees are to cover the cost

The weather was a bit iffy.. but we managed to avoid the rain .
It wasnt too busy. maybe because as it's quite new not many people know about it , so it was a  pleasant relaxing  walk

As we reached the railway line I heard a train coming. I didnt have time to think about settings and just clicked away hoping to get a few shots before it went past.
En route back I heard the toot of a train but it wasnt the steam train, just a shunter.

Back at the carpark we debated about paying for another 2 hours and having a late lunch in The Swan, but it was quite busy in there and seemed  very dark so we went down the road to Cafe Ambio.

A good day.

(Apparently our parking ticket would have  been reimbursed if we spent £10 in the hotel.. but we werent sure if theyd have reimbursed us if wed had to pay an extra £7.50  I'll have to check )
