Leadership
Delivering a Leadership workshop today for the Northern Network in Bradford at the lovely Horton Community Farm, it went really well, lovely to help other social enterprises at the start of their journey. Horton provided a wonderful outdoor classroom with no electricity on site, great to be free of computers, PowerPoint, video etc etc etc
When the day started we did a quick housekeeping intro - where the composting loo was, how it worked, phone policy, respect etc. We even made a joke about the lack of fire alarms and at least we were already outside... Two hours later I had to order everyone out and away as we realised that someone had set a neighbouring garage alight and the smokeand flames were heading our way. Transformational leadership morphed in to autocratic pretty quickly! Fortunately quick local action and the fire brigade soon had it under control.
A good day somewhat spoilt by a road closure (crashed tanker) on the way home turning a sub 2 hour journey back into a 4+ hour epic.
