A new garden visitor
Very poor quality but this owl was spotted by my garden wildlife camera at 4 am this morning. I’ve often heard owls in the night but my camera has never spotted one. He swooped in and then his head slowly swivelled round. The camera only records 30 seconds at a time, so he vanished from the screen and wasn’t in the next shot. The hedgehog that was pottering around at the time just ignored him. My house is in a normal-ish street but everyone’s gardens tend to be super neat and over-pruned, whereas mine is more like a jungle. I hope the owl will join the foxes and hedgehogs as a regular visitor. I used to have badgers for years but my nasty neighbour took great satisfaction in blocking their access to my garden.
I can’t solve the problem of how to get better images. They are saved by the camera onto an SD card, which I download to my main PC. But the only program I can view the videos on is VLC, and those files won’t attach to emails or transfer to Blipfoto. So I have to use my phone to photograph them, with the resulting poor quality.
Also my Windows 7 computer will no longer update its virus protection. I’ve tried to download other free antivirus software, but it all fails to install. Now I daren’t turn on my computer in case it catches a virus! I’ve unsuccessfully googled for solutions.
