Dig this Bee

Up until the early evening, I thought pic of the day was in the bag for today but I'd reckoned without the appearance of this chap and his co-workers. Yesterday I had dug a hole to plant a tree and had made small holes in the sides using a garden fork. Tonight, the bees were busying themselves by going deep into these holes and bringing out mouthfulls of earth. The bee you see here had just emerged from the hole directly above him. I'm guessing these are Ground Bees but don't know for sure. I'm pleased to say that no bees were harmed in the planting of said tree but it took some time to convince them to vacate. They were still buzzing around when I'd finished planting.
