My school friend Maggie, who sadly died 2 years ago, would tell us about when she visited her father in a care home. Sometimes George Alagiah would be there visiting his father too. The two fathers had built up quite a friendship.

Jack and I have followed George's illness closely and are so sad to hear of his death. And of course it makes me think of my friend Maggie who I miss very much. Extra is Maggie and me. July 2019 at our last school friends get together.

My thoughts are with both Maggie and George.
