Juveniles
I spotted this young robin when I was feeding the birds yesterday and was pleased when he came to see me again this morning. He seems quite friendly. Maybe he is a bit lonely. He is on his ownsome, while the sparrows have loads of friends, but won't let him join in.
I managed to get a shot of him on the bird bath, with another loner, a small blue tit, also looking quite young. I regretted not cleaning and filling the bird bath yesterday but I didn't get to it in my long list of chores. I rectified than and waited, hoping he would come back for a 'cleaner' shot. He didn't, though the blue tit came back for frequent drinks. I also got a young chaffinch (I think), in the extra, and spotted another juvenile robin (2nd extra). It looks to be a different one as it seems to have less colour.
In other news we popped into Cirencester after lunch to go to the Friday antiques fair. They were already packing up at 2pm. Mrsfb was, as usual, looking for figurines with books. She didn't find anything at the fair but bought a couple of things in an antiques shop - a wizard and a bronze mouse!

Hummingbird Hawk-Moth
The lavender we had last year was so different from the Hidcote lavender we have now.
